The estate contains literature (monographs, brochures) about Jewish history predominantly of an antisemitic nature from 1869-1932, scientific studies are also included (inv. № 2429).
- Archival history:
- The collection was artificially compiled in the 19th century from documents which came from the activity of administration of the property of the North-Bohemian manors (Frýdlant, Liberec, Grabštejn, Lemberk), from documents of the family and ancestral archives of the Bieberstein, Redern, Gallas, Clam and Clam-Gallas families and documents of affiliated families and individual persons (Josef Bergl, Kurt Oberdorffer and others). The collection was inventoried in 1993-1996 and an index of places, people and items was added.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The creator of the collection is the family of Clam Gallas from Frýdlant. Josef Bergl worked in their family archives. Josef Bergl was born on 6 September 1874 in Doksy. He was taken on by the Vice Regency Archives in Prague in 1900. In 1914, he transferred to the rectorate of the German University in Prague and after six years to the Archives of the Ministry of the Interior (formerly the Vice Regency Archives). In 1933, he published a list of Judaica in the Archives of the Ministry of the Interior in Prague. He was pensioned off in 1935. He went to Frýdlant, where he worked at the chateau as archivist of the Clam-Gallas family archive. He was also active in the field of heritage care for the district of Frýdlant and in several historical and archival societies. He went to Germany after the war.
