Scope and content:: The fonds includes files of the law firm of JUDr. Robert Korner and JUDr. Ludwig Brixel, specialising in business law. Legal disputes often concerned various property interests in Ostrava or enterprises owned by wealthy members of the Jewish families, for example Oskar Federer and Adolf Sonnenschein (the directors of the Vítkovice Ironworks). The lawyers also represented Adolf Rix, the owner of the department store of the same name in Ostrava. Another item concerning Jews is a file relating to financial compensation of the “Aryanised” stationery business of Fritz Strebinger in Moravská Ostrava from 1939-1940.

Archival history:: The documents were taken in by the Municipal Archives in Ostrava in 1959.

Administrative/biographical history:: The law firm of JUDr. Robert Korner and JUDr. Ludwig Brixel, specialising in business law, operated in Moravská Ostrava in the period of the first Czechoslovak Republic until 1943. Among the clients were wealthy businessmen, not only from Czechoslovakia but also from Austria. The law firm represented, within the Ostrava region, owners of large industrial enterprises, associations, and the city of Moravská Ostrava.
