- Scope and content:
- The fonds contains minutes of meetings (up to 1940) and a religious tax register as well as records of the affiliated community of Lysá nad Labem: statutes (1939), a graves register (up to 1942) and fragmentary files (up to 1943).
- Archival history:
- The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- A small Jewish settlement in Nové Benátky is documented from the second half of the 16th century. There was a house of prayer was in the town after 1740. A Jewish religious community was established there in about 1836. The community was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War and did not subsequently resume its activities.
