- Jewish settlement in Luže was already in existence before 1570. A Jewish religious community had probably been established there by the first half of the 17th century. Luže was the headquarters of the regional rabbi in the first half of the 19th century. The community was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War and did not subsequently resume its activities.
