- Administrative/biographical history:
- A small Jewish settlement in Liberec is documented from the end of the 17th century. Individual Jewish families probably lived there as early as the 15th century. A separate Jewish religious community was established there in 1863. It was disbanded after the annexation of the Sudetenland by Nazi Germany in 1938 but resumed its activities after the Second World War.
