- Administrative/biographical history:
- Bedřich Stránský was born in Prague on 28 February 1888, the son of a factory owner. He graduated in law from the German Charles-Ferdinand University in Prague in 1911. He moved to Most in 1912, where he completed his traineeship and worked as an independent lawyer from 1920 until October 1938, when he was forced to close down his law practice. He lived in Prague from March 1939. His entire family was deported to the Terezín ghetto (Transport Am) on 24 April 1942 and to Auschwitz (Transport Dr) on 15 December 1943. His wife Lisa was the only one in his family to survive.
