- The material was donated to the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague by the testator's granddaughter in 2012.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Max Pleschner was born in the town of Týn nad Vltavou, southern Bohemia, on 20 October 1870. He was a leading representative of the Czech-Jewish movement, a journalist, a man of letters and the author of a number of political essays. He published a lot of material and translated under the pseudonym Václav Lužnický. He came out strongly against the Young Czech Party. He contributed to the founding of the Tribuna newspaper, of which he was its director until 1928. He was also the co-founder of the Čas newspaper and the Tábor weekly Jiskra. He died in Prague on 5 December 1932.
