- Administrative/biographical history:
- Dr. Josef Teige (born 1 June 1862 in Prague, died 6 March 1921 in Prague) was a historian and archivist. He studied in Prague, Munich and Vienna. In 1896 he was employed as archivist at the Prague City Archives. His main areas of focus were medieval Czech history, Prague history and topography, genealogy and diplomatics. During the redevelopment of Prague at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, he was one of the protectors of city monuments, including the Jewish ghetto which was being demolished.
