- The fonds contains personal records (mainly diplomas) and a hand-written dissertation (1905–1955).
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Dr. Gustav Sicher was a rabbi. He was born in Klatovy, Bohemia, on 21 August 1880 and attended the Jewish school and gymnasium there. He later studied at the Vienna Rabbinical Seminary (Israelitisch-theologische Lehranstalt) and gained a doctorate of philosophy from the Charles-Ferdinand University in Prague. He served as rabbi in Náchod between 1906 and 1928 and in Prague-Vinohrady from 1928. At the end of 1939 he made it to Palestine. He was active in Jerusalem, where he founded a synagogue for Czechoslovak Jews, held lectures and taught religion to Czechoslovak children. He also worked as a chaplain at Hadassah Hospital. In 1947, at the invitation of Jewish Religious Community of Prague, he returned to Prague, where he became chief rabbi. He died in Prague on 6 October 1960.
