- The fonds contains literary papers, German translations of works by various authors (Dante Alighieri, Svatopluk Čech, Walt Whitman, etc.), travel diaries and fragmentary correspondence (1891–1929) as well as material relating to academic, technical and literary activities, and illustrative material about Hugo König.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Dr. Hugo König (born 23 August 1863 in Prague, died 24 September 1937 in Prague) was a doctor. After graduating from the Medical Faculty of the German Charles-Ferdinand University in Prague, he worked at several medical institutes (in Podmokly, Ledeč and Bubeneč). From 1895 he went on regular journeys across Europe and overseas as a ship physician. Over the course of these journeys, he kept a number of diaries and translated various works.
