- The fonds contains personal records as well as manuscripts of academic and literary work. It also includes Grün's family records.
- Archival history:
- The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Dr. Nathan Grün (1841–1913) was a rabbi and teacher. He completed his rabbinic studies in Bratislava and graduated from the University of Vienna in 1867. He taught religion in Liptovský Mikuláš and, from 1872, in Prague. He is the author of published works on Jewish history and religion textbooks. He was also the Prague Jewish Community's librarian.
