- The fonds contains minutes of meetings (until 1939), election records, personnel files, registry records, financial records, construction-related documents, fragmentary files of a Jewish school, and statutes of the burial society (chevra kadisha). The bulk of the material dates from the 19th century.
- Archival history:
- The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The earliest reference to a Jewish community in Dolní Kounice dates from 1581. The community gradually expanded until the mid-19th century, after which time it went into rapid decline. It was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War and did not subsequently resume its activities.
