- The fonds contains statutes, records of meetings, correspondence with associations of Jewish religious communities, material relating to the alteration of the district boundaries of Jewish communities, material relating to the supervision of religious instruction, documents concerning the training of teachers of religious education and rabbis, material relating to the distribution of lump-sum aid, financial records, material relating to the activity of the association's heritage commission.
- Archival history:
- The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The supreme council was founded in 1927. It comprised five associations of Jewish religious communities: the Provincial Association of Israeli Religious Communities in Moravia, the Provincial Association of Jewish Religious Communities in Silesia, the Association of Prague Jewish Religious Communities, the Association of Bohemian Religious Communities in Bohemia, and the Association of Israeli Religious Communities in Bohemia with German as their official language. The council acted as a mediator between the associations themselves and between the associations (or the associated communities in the associations) and the state authorities. It was discontinued in November 1941.
