- Administrative/biographical history:
- The earliest written reports about Jewish settlement in Český Krumlov date from the 14th century. Jews were banned from settling in the town after 1494. It was not until the middle of the 19th century that a Jewish religious association was founded there. A Jewish religious community was established in Český Krumlov in 1893. It was disbanded after the annexation of the Sudetenland by Nazi Germany in 1938 and did not resume its activities after the Second World War.
