- The fonds contains minutes of meetings, communication with the authorities, financial records and fragmentary records of the burial society (chevra kadisha)-including copies of epitaphs-and books/registers of Jewish associations.
- Archival history:
- The records were sent to the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Jewish settlement in Libeň is documented after the middle of the 16th century. It developed in the 17th century and subsequently in 1745 after the expulsion of Jews from Prague. A Jewish religious community was in existence there from the 17th century at the latest. It was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War and did not subsequently resume its activities.
