It also contains the statutes (1886, 1934) and fragmentary files of the associated community of Vsetín.
- Archival history:
- The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- A minor Jewish settlement in Valašské Meziříčí is documented from the 18th century. It increased in size from the middle of the 19th century onwards. A Jewish prayer association was established in the 1860s, becoming a religious community in 1891. The community was based in the neighbouring town of Krásno nad Bečvou (from 1924, part of Valašské Meziříčí). It was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War but subsequently resumed its activities as the Jewish Religious Community of Valašské Meziříčí, which was based in Vsetín.
