- The fonds contains material relating to the affiliated community of Moravské Budějovice: minutes of meetings and fragmentary files, statutes of a Jewish women's association, and statutes of the burial society (chevra kadisha).
- Archival history:
- The records came to the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of a shipment of material from Jemnice.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- A large Jewish settlement emerged in Šafov after the expulsion of Jews from Lower Austria in 1670. An important religious community was established there at the start of the 18th century at the latest. The community was disbanded after the annexation of the Sudetenland by Nazi Germany in 1938 and did not resume its activities after the Second World War. It is likely that there was a prayer association in Moravské Budějovice (Mährisch Budwitz) from the 1860s onwards, although it is not entirely clear whether it became a separate community in the 20th century. The prayer association was probably in existence until the Second World War as part of the Jewish Religious Community of Šafov.
