- Scope and content:
- The fonds contains minutes of meetings, a register of charitable foundations, fragmentary files, registers of synagogue seats, a Hazkara, and the minutes of meetings held by a local Maccabi association.
- Archival history:
- The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Jews lived in Strážnice from the latter half of the 15th century, from which time the number of Jewish families continued to rise. A religious community existed, at the latest, from the 16th century. The community was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War and did not subsequently resume its activities.
