It also contains material relating to the associated community of Přehořov-minutes of meetings, a cash book of the burial society and a cash book of the Association for the Support of the Poor.
- Archival history:
- The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- A small Jewish settlement in Soběslav is documented from the latter half of the 16th century. Jews were expelled from the town after 1594. It was not until the middle of the 19th century that a new settlement took shape there. The seat of the earlier Jewish Religious Community of Přehořov was relocated to Soběslav, probably in 1874. The area of the disbanded Jewish religious communities of Myslkovice (Miskowitz) and Tučapy (Tutschap) was annexed to the Soběslav community in 1931. The community was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War and did not subsequently resume its activities.
