- Archival history:
- The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Individual families were allowed to live in Polička from the latter half of the 18th century, but it was not until the latter half of the 19th century that a more substantial settlement was able to take shape. A prayer association was probably established there after 1860, becoming a separate religious community in 1872. The community was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War and did not subsequently resume its activities.
