- The collection contains photographs of war damage and rebuilding in Warsaw as well as correspondence with Bernhard Grzimek, Paul Grüninger (concerning his commitment to the rescue of Jewish refugees in 1938) and Golo Mann, amongst others.

- The collection was transferred to the AfZ (Archives of Contemporary History) in 1994.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Janina Van der Hoff was an architect. She was born on 23 May 1916 and lived in Poland until 1958. After a short stay in the Netherlands she entered Switzerland and from 1967 worked as an assistant at the Institute for Local, Regional and National Planning at the ETH Zurich.
