- The main focus of the collection is Anne-Marie Im Hof-Piguet's work in France in the service of the Swiss Red Cross Children's Aid Society from 1942 to 1944, from which her letters to her parents in Switzerland and a collection of photographs from the children's home La Hille have been preserved. Otherwise, the estate mainly consists of the documentation regarding her book publications “La Filière. En France occupée 1942-1944” from 1986 and its German translation. It includes manuscripts and correspondence with publishers as well as work materials, some of which are source material (eyewitness accounts or copies from the Swiss Red Cross Archive). Also documented is Anne-Marie Im Hof-Piguet's participation in documentary films and radio broadcasts on the subject of escape assistance. The correspondence reflects above all her network of contacts with former protégés or staff members from her time in France. The estate also contains biographical material, such as certificates, school photos or correspondence from her mother. Anne-Marie Im Hof-Piguet's involvement in the social and political life after 1945 is poorly documented, especially with regard to her work as cofounder of Swisscontact. Institutional documents from the provenance of Anne-Marie Im Hof-Piguet were integrated into the institutional holdings of Swisscontact. In addition, an interview with Im Hof-Piguet (File IB Swisscontact/26) can be found in this collection.

- In 2005, an initial small part of Anne-Marie Im Hof-Piguet's estate was transferred to the Archives of Contemporary History (AfZ), followed in 2008 by the majority of the holdings. The delivery in 2008 was carried out by Catherine Im Hof, daughter of Anne-Marie Im Hof-Piguet.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Anne-Marie Im Hof-Piguet, a refugee helper, teacher and co-founder of Swisscontact, was born in Martigny on 12 April 1916 and died in Köniz on 18 December 2010. She was the daughter of Henri Joseph and Thérèse, née Nicole. She graduated in 1940 with a degree in philosophy, German and history in Lausanne and Vienna. Between 1942 and 1944 she worked at the Children's Aid Unit of the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) in Southern France, first in the Children's Colony at the Château de Montluel near Lyon, then in the SRC headquarters in Toulouse. Beginning in May 1943, she worked in the Children's Colony at the Château de La Hille in Montégut-Plantaurel, and participated in several rescue operations of Jewish children and young people across the French-Swiss border. In 1944, she returned to Switzerland and worked as a teacher in the canton of Vaud and in Basel. In 1947, she married Ulrich Im Hof with whom she had two daughters. In 1959, she co-founded Swisscontact, a foundation for development cooperation in Zurich. In 1991, she was honoured by Yad Vashem as "Righteous Among the Nations”.
