Section J contains a large number of deposits and donations from 1798 onward, including numerous videos from Swiss Television. The majority of videos in this collection are reports from the news magazine “Tagesschau“ from 1966 to 2007, including reports on the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of granting civil rights to Jews. Among others, there are reports on the celebrations of the centenary of the amendment of the constitution to establish civil rights for Jews in Zurich in 1966, a demonstration for equal rights for Jews in Poland in front of the Polish embassy in Bern in 1968, several demonstrations by the Action Committee for Jews in the Soviet Union against oppression and destruction of Jewish culture in the USSR in Geneva, Basel, Zurich and Bern in the years 1969 to 1984 (with Jean Ziegler, among others), or the exhibition “Jews in Switzerland“, which was shown in 1982 in the Helmhaus in Zurich.
There is also a 1999 report on a contribution concerning the reappraisal of Switzerland's role in the Second World War, which includes a book on antisemitism entitled “Die Juden sind unser Unglück“ by Sigi Feigel (1921-2004). A report from 2001 includes coverage of an open letter from Swiss Jews to the Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (1928-2014) regarding his Palestinian policy. Also from 2001 there is a report on the murder of Rabbi Abraham Grünbaum in Zurich. From 2002 there is an interview with Rolf Bloch (1930-2015), President of the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities (SIG) between 1992 and 2000, on the attitude of Jews in Switzerland toward the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. From the same year, there is a report about SIG President Alfred Donath‘s criticism of the Federal Council and the media for their allegedly one-sided partisanship on behalf of the Palestinians in the Middle East conflict. A report from 2004 reported on the coming into force of a law on the rehabilitation of Swiss citizens who had helped Jews evade the law between 1933 and 1945. Aimée Stauffer-Stitelmann, a refugee aid worker, was chosen as a case study.
In 2005, a report was broadcast on the bicentennial of the Basel Jewish community. Starting in 2007, the file includes some reports on the rise of racism and antisemitism in Switzerland. The collection also includes several interesting articles from the program “DRS – Aktuell“. Among others, there are a report on the Judeo-Christian Research Institute in Lucerne from 1981, the situation of the Jews in Switzerland in 1982 and reports on anniversaries such as the abolition of discrimination against Jews in 1983 or the centenary of the construction of the synagogue of the Jewish community of Zurich in 1984. In 1971, a report in the Swiss informational programme “Antenne“ aired a portrait of the former Swiss vice-consul in Budapest, Carl Lutz.
