- The collection “Birth Registrations” is a non-Jewish collection with a certain number of documents related to Jewish points of interest. It covers the period from 1904 to 1997 and includes personal names of individuals and their families as well as date and place of birth, sex, size and weight. Furthermore, the documents include the name of the midwife or doctor, details about the birth and the annotation of live or dead birth.
- Archival history:
- This collection was transferred to the City Archive as part of the regular document transfer process stipulated by national archival regulations. It no longer receives any accruals.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The City Archive of Innsbruck received the documents in this collection from the Registry Office as part of the city council of Innsbruck. The Registry Office is responsible for the registrations of births and deaths as well as marriages. Cf. Werbeamt des Landesverkehrsamtes (ed.), Adressbücher 1930-1940. (The address books are publicly accessible at the City Archive in Innsbruck).

- These documents aren’t publicly accessible because of privacy legislation. Information about certain individuals can be detailed by the archivists of the City Archive of Innsbruck, however. Until about 1940, birth documents are found in the City Archive, but later documents are in the Registry Office or Registration Agency and aren’t accessible.
