- Archival history:
- The Historical City Archive of Stavenhagen is affiliated to the Fritz-Reuter-Literaturmuseum. The archive is based on the so-called "Altregistratur" of the Stavenhagen City Council. In GDR times, the old city registries and council archives were stored centrally in the archives of the Malchin County Council and were only accessible to a limited group of people. When the “Altkreis Malchin” became part of the Demmin district in 1994, the archives of the former Malchin district were also to be stored centrally in the Demmin district archives. However, the director of the museum succeeded in retrieving the collection of the "Altregistristratur Stavenhagen" and added it as a further collection ("Historisches Stadtarchiv”).The museum subsequently processed, inventoried and supplemented.
