- The Mecklenburgische Hypotheken- und Wechselbank Schwerin [Mecklenburg Mortage and Exchange Bank] was founded in 1871. After the deposit and exchange bank business had been transferred to the Mecklenburgische Depositen- und Wechselbank in 1921, the mortgage and exchange bank retained the mortgage and municipal loans, the issue of mortgage bonds and municipal bonds.
