The collection “Mecklenburgische Landstände” (including knights, lords and manors) comprises the county estates (15th to 20th century, Sig. 3.3-2), the town archive of Dassow (Sig. 3.3-2/1), the town archive of Friedland (Sig. 3.3-2/2) and the town archive of Grevesmühlen (Sig. 3.3-2/3).
In detail: Town archive of Dassow (1760-1935 (1947)), of which 2 files on Jews in Dassow, (1855-1858): negotiations between congregation and local executive; (1842) negotiations about the Dassow Jews. Town Archive of Friedland (1528-1945), including 1 file on the concession of Jews in Friedland 1705-1860. Town Archive of Grevesmühlen with 11 relevant files (1859-1933), including Jewish cemetery; name changes; affairs of the Jewish congregation; Israelitische Landesgemeinde (Israelite State Congregation).
- Archival history:
- The collections of the three town archives of Dassow, Friedland and Grevesmühlen were transferred to the Main State Archive in Schwerin in the 1950s and 1970s. The town council of Dassow transferred its files in 1957 and 1975. The files on Jewish affairs are in the Miscellaneous group. The town of Friedland was heavily destroyed in May 1945. The collections of the municipal archives were secured, but with gaps and severely damaged. In 1948 and 1955 they were moved to the State Main Archive. The files on Jewish affairs are located in the Branch Offices section. The files of the town of Grevesmühlen were transferred by the Grevesmühlen district council in 1979.
