- Administrative/biographical history:
- Georg Emil Ludwig Sello (1850-1926), son of the Prussian senior court gardener Emil Sello (1816-1893), studied law in Berlin and Jena from 1868 to 1873, as well as German studies, art history and auxiliary historical sciences. He received his doctorate and, at the same time, took the first state law exam in Berlin. He interrupted the subsequent legal preparatory service in 1877 in order to gain practical experience in the archives at the Breslau (Wrocław) State Archives. In 1878, he finally embarked on the archival career in Prussia, first as an auxiliary worker at the Secret State Archives Berlin, then in the State Archives of Koblenz and Magdeburg, where he was appointed archival councillor in 1884. Dr. Georg Sello (1850-1926) was in charge of the Oldenburg State Archives from 1889.
