- The collection contains records relating to the unauthorised seizure of trade goods of the Jew Heumann Meyer, brother of the protected Jew (Schutzjude) Leffman Meyer (in Cloppenburg).
- Archival history:
- Friesoythe was created in the first half of the 13th century as the border castle of the Tecklenburg counts. In 1400, the city went to the bishops of Münster, in 1803 together with the bishopric (Niederstift) of Münster to the Duchy of Oldenburg.
