- This collection contains files concerning security measures taken against thieves, beggars, vagabonds, Jews, “Gypsies” and "useless rabble" in the demesne of Varel; payment of protection money and efforts to reduce the amount of protection paid by the Jews; complaints of various Jews, protection money paid by the Jews in the demesne of Kniphausen; annual inventories of the Jews established in the administrative district of Varel and their servants and slaves dating from 1814-1847; protection granted for various Jews.
