- The collection contains files concerning administrative matters, including civil proceedings, criminal proceedings, political unrest, declarations of death, pasture matters and real estate matters. A number of these involve Jews.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The new state constitution (Landschaftsordnung) of 1832 led to a radical reform in the intermediary instance. District councils were newly established, directly subordinated to the state ministry. In 1850, the districts were extended and modified by, among other measures, incorporation of the administrative district of Thedinghausen, previously belonging to the district directorate of Holzminden.
