- Administrative/biographical history:
- The new state constitution (Landschaftsordnung) of 1832 led to a radical reform in the intermediate administrative division. District councils were newly established, directly subordinated to the state ministry. In 1850, the districts were extended and modified by, in this case, incorporation of the administrative district of Thedinghausen, which previously belonged to the district directorate of Holzminden.
