- The collection contains files concerning administrative matters, including civil proceedings, criminal proceedings, political unrest, declarations of death, pasture matters and real estate matters. A number of these issues involve Jews.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The administrative district authorities (Kreisämter) were established by the judicial reform of 1823-25 as subdivisions of the district courts. With the administrative reform of 1832-3, the administrative district authorities were renamed district administrations (Ämter). The reorganisation ended in 1850 with the final separation of justice and administration. Judicial powers were transferred to the district courts.
