- The collection contains: foundation and development of the school, correspondence with curators and board of trustees of the school, holidays, supervision, curricula, correspondence with the High School Commission, orders etc. of the same, land matters, donations, personnel matters, esp. teachers, students' directories, conduct, grades, report card and promotion registers, exams, foreigner's register. It also documents a donation of the chamber agent Israel Jacobson, Braunschweig, to the city poor relief fund, Seesen.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Already established in 1801 as a foundation by the Jewish chamber agent Israel Jacobson, the Jewish school became a Jewish-Christian interdenominational school as early as 1802. From 1870 onward, it was developed as an intermediate secondary school (Realschule) and a secondary school for the middle classes (Bürgerschule). In 1922 it first became a state secondary school, which after 1926 was changed to a secondary school with senior grades.
