- With the Implementation Act of 1 April 1879 to the German Judicature Law of 1877, the higher regional court in Wolfenbüttel became the highest appellate and judicial authority of the duchy and the state of Braunschweig, instead of the higher regional court based in Braunschweig. It continued as such until 1946.
