Of special interest is the appeal of the Jew Hertz against a decision of the department of justice in 1624 (Nr. 745).
- Archival history:
- The imperial chamber court was established in 1495 and ceased its activities in 1806, after Emperor Franz II abdicated as emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. It was maintained by the imperial estates. It had its seat from 1526 to 1688 in Speyer and since 1693 in Wetzlar. The Reichskammergericht was the highest authority in criminal, civil and administrative trials, responsible for direct complaints between individuals immediately subordinate to the Reich or against these and for appointments from the German high courts, as far as no higher regional court existed in the territories, as was the case in the electorates.
