- Administrative/biographical history:
- The history of the chamber dates back to the late 15th century. In the year 1483 the first "chamber men" of Duke Friedrich the Younger are mentioned. The chamber developed from a collection point for the incomes from administrative districts and customs duties in the first quarter of the 16th century since approx. 1530 to the central chamber treasury. Since 1547 a chamber master was at the head of the chamber administration (since the beginning of the 17th century, chief treasurer [Oberkämmerer]) to whom a chamberlain and other officials were subordinated.
