- Archival history:
- The Benedictine nunnery of Gandersheim was founded by the Reich monastery of Gandersheim and consecrated in 939/940. During the 13th century, it developed into the nunnery for canonesses. In 1482 it was occupied by Benedictine nuns from Lamspringe,. It was abolished in 1570.
