- The collection contains many files pertaining to Jewish matters such as the admission of Jews and their protection; admission of individual Jews and granting of civic rights; accommodation of Jews and beggars in the Jewish hostel; church and school matters (school statute and treaties with Catholics and Jews).
- Archival history:
- The file record begins in fragments in the 16th century and became more comprehensive in the following century. For the 18th and 19th centuries, the source material is good. As a rule, the collection end in the 1930s; individual pieces, however, go beyond that. The order of the collection, which often goes back to the first city archivist Prof. Dr. Dietrich Kohl, was essentially maintained. As a result, shortcomings were mitigated by references. Otherwise, one can refer to the very detailed index of persons, locations and material.
