- The collection contains administrative documents, records relating to artistic funding; theatre projects; congresses; summer courses; publication funding; correspondence and other documents for the non-programmatic project funding. Of special interest to Jewish history are: promotion of the exhibition project "Church and Judaism", applicant: Lutheran Service for Christians and Jews - Lower Saxony, Ms. Quast; promotion of the exhibition project "Magrepha - The organ in the synagogue", applicant: European Centre for Jewish Music, Andor Iszak.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Lower Saxony Foundation was founded in 1986 by the State of Lower Saxony as a non-profit foundation constituted under civil law based in Hannover. It has assets amounting to €45 million. Its aim is to promote science, education, art and culture in the State of Lower Saxony in the interests of the common good. The senate of the foundation decides on the funding grants after examining and reviewing the submitted applications. Lower Saxony programs related to science, education, art and culture are eligible for applications. Private individuals are excluded from funding.
