- The collection predominantly contains investigative and criminal law files, including court cases regarding Nazi violent crimes (NSG), various court cases on crimes against humanity, participation in persecution of Jews, measures against Jews.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The public prosecutor's office in Göttingen belonged to the jurisdiction of the (chief) public prosecutor's office at the higher regional court of Celle, where the personnel files of the prosecutors were also kept (see Ned. 711). Since 1998, it has been assigned to the jurisdiction of the higher regional court of Braunschweig. The public prosecutor's office investigates criminal cases in which, insofar as a preliminary hearing is held with the competent court, it also represents the prosecution by filing a statement of claim with the competent court.
