- The collection contains various evidentiary procedures and interrogations relating to denazification in Lüneburg.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Until 1947, denazification was entirely in the hands of the British military government. German committees ("chambers") and subcommittees were merely asked for their opinion, which the British did not always follow. It was not until mid-1948 that denazification (including files) passed to German committees after a transition period of over six months.
