- The collection contains numerous individual cases of restitution for damages caused by Nazi injustice.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Lower Saxony State Administrative Authority (NLVwA) was a central authority similar to the former district governments, but unlike them it was a senior state authority, insofar as in terms of territory it performed tasks for the entire state. It was also not comparable to the district governments in that it merely combined the functions of central state offices or senior special authorities. It was equal to district governments, not above them. It was, as a whole, subject to the Minister of the Interior's supervision and the respective departmental minister exercised specialist supervision of the individual parts.
