The collection contains records relating to territorial administration; Landtag; court administration; appointment; clemency; building; imperial immediacy claimed by the city of Hildesheim; French emigrants; peace congress in Rastatt; border disputes; trade concessions; fair privileges; privileges for craft offices; council elections in Hildesheim Neustadt; imperial war against France; protected Jews (Schutzjuden).
Of special interest to Jewish history are: concessions for the merchant guild; rescripts and reports on the administrative district of Ruthe: rejection of protection for schoolmaster Hirsch Falk in Gleidingen and referring him to Barnten in 1788; protection of the Jews, including, among others: the protection of the Jews in Peine, property acquired by Jews, writs of protection; general protection of Jews, including, among others: news of the bailiffs about the Jews in the administrative districts; passports of the Jews, including, among others: letter of complaint about fraud with passport on the market and part of a passport regulation.

- The cabinet registry of the last Hildesheim prince-bishop, Franz Egon von Fürstenberg (1789-1802, died in 1825), has been preserved in the form as it was found by the Prussian secularisation commissioners in the castle at the beginning of August 1802.
