- Archival history:
- The Hildesheim State Archives (Hildesheim correspondence archive Hild. Br. 1) is the most valuable source regarding the history of the prince-bishopric of Hildesheim, secularised in 1802. The files arose essentially out of the activity of the most important central authority, the prince-bishop's government that included virtually all branches of the state administration.
