The collection contains documents relating to war and defence preparations; war reports; hostile troop movements; envoys; counterintelligence; prisoners of war; deserters; hostages; excesses; course of the war; occupation period; war chest; damage repair; peace negotiations; personal papers and the estate of duke Ferdinand of Braunschweig-Lüneburg.
Of special interest for Jewish history are the following: a French entrepreneur, the Jew Aaron Grodual, offered to supply meat for the army according to the letter from duke Ferdinand of Braunschweig; state prisoners, spies, suspects and affairs, including: Jew Baruch Seckel of Celle; discovery in the captured correspondence of Marshal de Contade that three unknown persons as well as the Jew Daniel Gouns residing in Braunschweig offered themselves to act as spies to the French; arrest of the Jews Levi Marcus Colm, Philipp Abraham, Philipp Oppenheimer and Marcus Salomon Homburger as well as dismissal of the three former; the letters allegedly found of the foreign Jews Levi Abraham and Wolff Daniel, who have declared themselves to be sutlers and have been extradited to the Coppenbrügge administrative district; the application by Marchand, who was formerly in service of the French commissioner Pontet as clerk, in order to speed up the legal case against the Jew Wahrendorff, which is pending before the castellany in Celle; the arrest of Johann Henrich Friedrichsen instead of a suspicious Portuguese Jew by the name of Patz; Jews arrested in Hannover, Levin Jacob and Joseph Abraham; the issue of passports for the transfer of horses through the principality of Hannover, including, among others: numerous duplicates of horse passes containing the names of horse traders, including numerous Jews; claims by the French Jewish hospital supplier Aaron Grodual to French commissioner Pontet; debt owed by the Jewish French hospital supplier Aaron Grodual and his refusal; release of the Electoral Hannover military prisoners, namely Frederic Henry Heart, formerly Israel Jacob, Italian Marsano and the count of Rietberg's castle lieutenants Carl; application from Frederic Henry Heart's, formerly Israel Jacob, and his fellow prisoners, the Italian Marsano and the count of Rietberg's castle lieutenant Carl for a certificate regarding imprisonment suffered in the Electorate of Hannover during the Seven Years ' War.
