Collection Hann. 93 includes the files of the Electoral Hannover privy councils concerning the internal state administration in all branches. As the beginning year, the year of the unification of the principality of Celle with Calenberg in 1705 was apparently intended for the formation of the collection. In this respect, the collection chronologically connects to the corresponding files Cal. Br. 23 (1488-1705), while the relevant Celle matters are distributed over a whole series of files of the Celle Archive (Celle Br. 46 to 70). However, the key year 1705 is not rigurously maintained – numerous subject areas date from the 17th and even 16th century. The majority of the files are from the 18th century and the collection mostly ends with the occupation period of 1803. Only few documents are available from the following decades up to 1823, the last year of the collection Hann. 93. The majority of the administration matters was then transferred to the administrative regions (Landdrosteien).
The collection contains records relating to: general matters; deduction charges from inheritances; administrative districts and city matters; appointments; Bremen Reich execution; internal state administration; border and sovereign matters; counties of Hohnstein and Hoya; Ilfeld abbey; intercessions; justice and criminal matters; monastic matters; agricultural matters; state economics; war; feudal matters; service duty of inhabitants (Landfolge); assembly of estate, etc.
Of special interest to Jewish history are: directory of Jewish families with their adult sons and assistants in the hamlets (Flecken) of Hoya, Bücken, Bruchhausen and Vilsen; demands for money; writs of protection; settlement of six wealthy Portuguese Jewish families in Hannover territory; responsibility of the state rabbis; Jewish writs of protection; surplice fee (Jura stolae), names and families of the "protected Jews" ("Schutzjuden") living in the city of Burgdorf; exchange debt claims; intercessions; various Jewish matters; correspondence; imperial warrant of apprehension; passport matters; announcement of epidemic; reports; applications; the onera publica (public duties) of the Jews in Münden; lists of "protected Jews" ("Schutzjuden"); the synagogue in Hannover; private prayer; request by Philipp Hirsch in Nörten for protection; list of "Schutzjuden" residing in the administrative district of Fallersleben.
