- Administrative/biographical history:
- The chamber authority, which changed its names several times during the centuries, originally grew out of the princely treasury chamber. It was designated as the royal and electoral chamber in the 17th to 18th centuries and as the royal domain chamber from 1823. After its dissolution its tasks were fulfilled by the domain chamber as an independent authority in 1858. Until the takeover by the Finance Directorate in 1869, transitional authorities of various names supervised the domain and forestry matters: From 1858 to 1866, ministry of finance and ministry of the royal house, from 1866 to 1867 the Prussian government general, finance department, from 1868 to 1869, the civil administration, management of domains and forestry. It was only with the dissolution of the Finance Directorate, which existed from 1869 to 1885, and the assumption of business by the governments in 1885 that the range of chamber files comes to an end in the broadest sense.
