- The collection contains records relating to administration, feudal matters, sovereign, border, jurisdiction, domain, forestry, hunting, monastery and military matters. Of special interest to Jewish history are: a case of the groom of the bedchamber (Kammerjunker) of Uslar in Sennickerode against the Jew in the court of Altengleichen because of protection money; admission of the Jews into the former administrative district of Friedland; annual reports on the changes in the personal circumstances of the Jews; collection of Jewish protection money in the administrative district of Neuengleichen and court of Gleichen; regulations and announcements in Jewish matters; laws, ordinances and other general subjects on the legal, political and municipal relations of the Jews; police supervision of Jews; marriage and independent occupation of Jews and the domanial levy to be paid by the same; refused identification of the Jew (Israelite) Jakob Katz, who lives in the Hessian part of Mollenfelde, by the Electoral Hessian administrative district of Witzenhausen; rescue of a drowned Jew at the Hellmühle mill near Niedergandern; refused extradition of the Hessian subjects, the brothers Kellner and the Jew Jacob Kaz from Hermannrode, who were arrested after a brawl on 23 January 1803 on Mollenfelde parish lands beyond the border fortification; an intended new building of a synagogue in the area of the border fortification in Mollenfelde by the Jews in Mollenfelde; preparation and submission of the population details of the Jews of the former court of Altengleichen; the election of Jewish leaders and the establishment of a regulatory instrument to run the affairs of the synagogue association of Mollenfelde; granting public aid for Jewish education; Jewish synagogue, school and poor in general; establishment of an educational institution for Jewish teachers; drawing up statistical surveys of Jewish elementary education; employment of teachers at Jewish schools; the contributions made by the "protected Jews" ("Schutzjuden") with the protection money parallel to the remuneration of the state rabbi and for the support of the Jewish poor in the “lunatic asylum”; accounting of the synagogue association of Wöllmarshausen; sharing in the burdens of the synagogue association of Bremke-Gelliehausen; the identification and confiscation of contributions to the expenditure within the synagogue association of Wöllmarshausen; the contributions of the Israelites to the state rabbinate fund.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Reinhausen grand administrative district (Großamt), which existed in this form from 1859 to 1885, united the administrative districts or courts of Reinhausen, Brackenberg, Friedland (without Lemshausen), Nidergandern, Niedeck, Alten- and Neuengleichen (without Mackenrode) and Garte, as well the town of the former court of Leineberg Obernjesa and Volkerode.
