The collection contains records relating to personnel; administration of justice; entailed estates; general administration; appeals; appeal decisions; registers and directories of the civil senate; revision decisions, complaints, registers and directories of the criminal divisions; court of arbitration proceedings; “hereditary health” court; widow's fund; support association for children of deceased judicial officers.
Of special interest to Jewish history are: Superior Hereditary Health Court (EGOG) in Celle, including: applications for sterilisation by Jewish leaders of closed institutions; judicial representations; civil code for the German Reich, containing: survey according to prohibitions on denominational mixed marriages between Christians and Jews in the 19th century; family foundations, containing: reports of Jewish and parity family trusts; attacks against judges of the Stade district court; Jews expelled from the notary and legal counsel; terminating lawyers as lawyers of the poor and reimbursement of their fees and expenses, in particular judicial representation of party members by Jews; "unauthorised" bearing of a civil title by Jewish lawyers, exemption from dues of Jewish charitable foundations, admission of Jewish lawyers or requests for their status in their capacity as notaries, accommodation of employees of Jewish notaries; accommodation of employees employed by Jewish lawyers and notaries; secessions from the Jewish religious community; legal status and service relations concerning civil servants in general; State Reduction Law; revocation of Jewish compulsory first names; directory of Jewish doctors in the city of Hannover.
